Best-Practices Fertilization & Pest Control

Wilhelm Brothers manages the health of ornamentals, plants, turf grasses and trees guided by the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Florida Friendly Yards Program and similar best-practice approaches when safely applying organic and non-organic fertilizers and herbicides to Southwest Florida’s sensitive landscapes.

Fertilization Management

Fertilization Management focuses on the expert application of county-approved fertilizers to plants, turf grasses and trees in strict adherence to product specifications and national, state and local environmental regulations. Wilhelm Brothers Environmental Control managers believe plants, trees and palms should be fertilized only when nutritional deficiencies are revealed, through either observation or soil testing. Over-fertilization promotes excessive growth and contributes to shallow root systems, degrading a plant’s ability to withstand stress.

Integrated Pest Management

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a sustainable approach to managing pests through biological, cultural, physical and chemical tools while minimizing risks to the community. Rather than visit once a month, Wilhelm Brothers technicians visit client properties frequently during active pest seasons to control pests before they can damage landscaping, equipment and structures.
